biggest stellar-mass black hole
An international team of scientists led by China has discovered a king-size, stellar-mass black hole in Earth's "cosmic backyard" containing the mass of 70 suns. It is the biggest known of its kind, researchers said on Thursday.
The discovery challenged astronomers' understanding of the formation models for black holes of its class, and provided a new way to find similar black holes in our own Milky Way galaxy that may lead to new theories for black hole astrophysics and stellar evolution.
The discovery is reported in the latest issue of the academic journal Nature.

Early on Saturday, a former NetEase employee posted a story on a WeChat account, claiming that he was forced to leave the company after he was diagnosed with serious heart disease in late January with the excuse of "poor performance".
The employee, who didn't give any personal information about himself, said in the story that NetEase informed him of being unqualified for the job in late March because of his "poor work performance" in the past half year, which he disputed. He said that his request for economic compensation for being laid off and a performance-based bonus for projects he was involved in was also refused by the company.
The former employee also said he experienced surveillance and was menaced in the office when he refused to resign. He was eventually forced to leave the company in September.
NetEase, an internet company headquartered in Beijing, released two separate statements on Monday apologizing for its "simple and crude way" of discharging an employee who is suffering from serious heart disease.

schoolyard burial case
Two suspects in a high-profile case in which a body of a man was found buried under a sports ground for more than 16 years in Huaihua, Hunan province, have been accused of killing him, local authorities said on Tuesday.
The provincial office against organized crimes announced in a release that prosecutors have approved the detention of Du Shaoping and Luo Guangzhong and charged them with the crime of intentional homicide.
Another 19 officials were punished for duty-related discipline violations in the case. Of them, 10 were detained and transferred for further review, the release said.
In addition, 13 people in a gang led by Du were also detained on suspicion of involvement in organized crime, it added.
In April, Du was detained during a crackdown on gangs and confessed he had killed a man and buried his body under a school sports ground.
The case came to the public's attention on June 20 when police dug up a body buried under the running track at Xinhuang No 1 Middle School.
Through DNA analysis, police confirmed the body was that of Deng Shiping, a former member of the school's maintenance staff who was reported missing more than 16 years ago.
